The Bolton Abbey Estate in the Yorkshire Dales is seeking an experienced, self- motivated grouse keeper to take on the Thorpe beat on the Duke of Devonshire’s west moor. The Devonshire family have the resource, enthusiasm and motivation to create the opportunity for the right candidate to stamp their mark on this historic beat and recover it to the levels where it was instrumental in the delivery of the 6,500 brace season of 2017.
The successful applicant will join a team comprising; Headkeeper, 5 Beatkeepers, Pheasant Keeper and Moorland Shepherd and will be responsible for the management of their own beat. They should have experience in best practice predator control and habitat management. Current shotgun and firearms certificates as well as a full UK driving licence are required. Expected commencement ASAP.
