The Deerstalking Fair comes to Newark Showground, Lincoln Road, Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire, on the 29th & 30th November, 2014, and will be held in the large George Stevenson Exhibition Hall.
As the name suggests, the fair is a unique event, with all the exhibitors and traders present, without exception, in some way connected to deer stalking/management.
This means literally hundreds of rifles and optics will be on display and available to buy on the day, as well as clothing, footwear, general stalking equipment from knives, including custom knife makers to traders selling equipment for deer dogs, high seats, kennel equipment, custom rifle builders and reloading equipment. Even large mobile refrigeration trailers will be in the hall! Several new exhibitors are now on board, including Edgar Brothers and Viking Arms. The CIC trophy measuring team will be present and happy to receive any trophies for scoring over the two days. There is also a taxidermy demonstration running over the weekend with experts available to answer any queries you have on preparation of your heads. Both the German dog tracking societies, the VH and the KBGS are again attending and will offer advice on any aspect of working with dogs for deer and associated equipment.
Zeiss are sponsoring the fair at Newark and offer a pair of Zeiss HT binoculars to be won each day by a lucky visitor in a free to enter prize draw. Other exhibitors will also be running prize draws over the weekend. Full details are available on the website.
This is a tremendous social occasion as well and an opportunity to rub shoulders over the two days with a large crowd of like minded folk, all passionate about their sport.
Entry charges are as follows: Adults £10, children under 16 are free, OAP’s £5 with parking at the venue also free.
