No, the Regulatory Reform (Game) Order 2007 simply legalised the sale of game out of season, provided it had been lawfully killed in season.

Effectively, it recognised that game these days is often preserved in a deep freeze and consumed at all times of the year.

The Protection of Birds Act 1967, which prohibited the sale of dead wild geese, was passed to prevent the commercial exploitation of all species of wild geese and its provisions are still in force.
