Kennel Cough: Someone told me a spoonful of Benylin was a good cure for kennel cough. Is this true as it would be much cheaper than going to the vets?
KENNEL COUGH
Peter Blatch
Well, for a start, taking your dog to the veterinary surgery with kennel cough is a very bad idea because it could get passed on to other dogs.
If you do decide to take it, keep the dog in the car and get the vet to come outside.
Yes I have known people give their dogs Benylin to relieve the symptoms but it?s not a good idea and doesn?t cure the problem ? this is definitely a condition that needs veterinary treatment.
Remember that kennel cough is highly contagious so your dog needs to be kept away from others and it should be exercised, on the lead, in places where other dogs don?t go.
