Breed health tool receives "official" backing
A recently launched breed health survey for English springer spaniels (ESS) has received backing from the Kennel Club (KC).
The survey, compiled by the joint health co-ordinators for the UK’s ESS breed clubs, is designed to give a stronger picture of the health and temperament of the breed in the UK.
It will ask owners to submit reports on their healthy dogs, as well as those with diagnosed health conditions. This will help to put any problems in context.
The survey, which can be completed online (www.englishspringerhealth.org.uk) until the end of July, is also open to owners of dogs that have died since January 2008. It can also be completed by anyone living in the UK who owns an ESS, whether the dog is registered by the KC or not.
