We had a milestone moment for our family in driven shooting in January. My son, Miller, who is 9 shot his first driven pheasant (two actually) at our syndicate Challacott Sporting Club. He was using his single barrelled 410. He brought down a true brace of a Hen and a Cock bird. Which we are having for dinner on Sunday. I would like to thank the entirety of the people involved in the club. All the syndicate members, Grant and Meghan on running the shoot, our fantastic beating and picking up team, and of course the family members that make our fantastic meals week after week.
To say it was a proud moment would be an understatement. I am sure you receive hundreds of these, but to see the younger generation coming through, particularly in these more difficult times for our sport is great, and this would not have happened without the support of our amazing members. So thank you to you all.
Meet Jack, aged 10, beating on the Edradynate Estate last October. He's ben part of the beating line since he was four and has developed a real passion for the countryside and fieldsports. Jack is always polite and confident, chatting easily with both beaters and Guns, but it's the dogs he loves most - he take every opportunity to be with them and learn from them.

Eight-year-old Skye had a fantastic time helping pick birds on a shoot in East Sussex recently. She is looking forward to spending more time in the field this season.
I've got such a wonderful picture of my son, Sidney, on a shoot day today. he is two years old and has been coming and picking up with me and my husband on since he was four weeks old. Today he joined my husband on the peg watching him shoot. It's tiring work so he took a quick nap for one of the dives. On the shoot today there were three generations and eight of his relatives. This is what it's all about - encouraging the younger generations.

Are you next months star?
