Up to 350 pheasants, with a total value of about £2,000, have been stolen from a barn in a Hampshire town.
The pheasants were taken from Manor Farm Estate in West Tisted, Alresford, overnight on Friday.
A police spokesman told the BBC: “A large vehicle would have been required to transport these birds and it would have taken at least two hours to load them.”
Hampshire Police have asked the shooting community to be alert and want to hear from anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious in the area.
Anyone with information should contact PC Wilkinson at Alton police station on 101 or call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
