Friends of the Earth has criticised the proposals for lacking vigour, but the Country Land & Business Association (CLA), whose members own or manage approximately half the rural land in England and Wales, has stressed how mportant it is that the strategy be based on complete evidence. CLA president Henry Robinson said: ?Farmers must be supported to implement options we know will make a difference.?
