<strong>Deputy chief executive of Countryside Alliance has been nominated for a peerage</strong>
Countryside Alliance (CA) deputy chief executive John Gardiner has been nominated for a peerage by the Prime Minister and will take a seat on the Government benches in the House of Lords. John Gardiner has worked for the CA since its creation in 1997 and before that for its predecessor the British Field Sports Society. His parliamentary colleagues include former CA chief executive Simon Hart MP and CA chairman Kate Hoey MP, who said: This is a great honour, not just for John, but also for the Alliance and the countryside as a whole. John has worked tirelessly for the rural community, and especially for hunting, through very challenging times.
