Deer breeding earlier

Red deer on the Isle of Rum are breeding earlier every year. The island’s deer population has been monitored since 1953 and is one of the longest-running research projects in the world. It is thought that longer growing seasons in spring and summer have improved the grazing, leading to a change in the breeding cycle.
