The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has confirmed that there are ?ongoing discussions? with the Department of Justice to remove the requirement for British shooters to obtain a certificate of approval from the PSNI before they travel to the country.

BASC NI director, Tommy Mayne, said: ?The certificate of approval is an unnecessary requirement for British visitors. A valid shotgun or firearm certificate should be sufficient evidence to allow entry to, and possession of, sporting firearms in Northern Ireland.”
