Hare poaching is rife in Lincolnshire say Police: Police have prosecuted more than 160 people since September 2012 for hare poaching.

There have been a few incidents in the north-east of the county, but most are in the Spalding/Boston area, say police. Operation Galileo, set up to deal with hare poaching, seems to be having an effect — reports of the crime nearly halved in December and January.

Sightings of suspected poachers should be reported to Lincolnshire police: Tel 101 and quote “Operation Galileo”.
