Neil Clark, Natural England?s area manager for Cumbria, has told a meeting of the Heather Trust that the pace and scale of change in the uplands is accelerating and that climate change ?is taking us into uncharted territory?. He said: ?Nature is remarkably resourceful, but it is our collective responsibility to ensure that the much-loved environments of the uplands are in the best possible condition to adapt to these challenges.?
