Improve your shoot with BASC

Two development days, delivered by BASC in partnership with Country Sports South West, will give shoots the chance to discuss issues such as cover crops, pest control and woodland management with gamekeeping experts.

The first shoot development day will be held on March 31 at Broad Hinton, Wiltshire, on a downland pheasant and partridge shoot; the second will take place on April 21 in Tiverton, Devon, on a pheasant shoot.

Glynn Evans, BASC’s head of game and gamekeeping, said: “The South West has a large number of small shoots and these shoot development days are designed with them in mind. Participants will be able to find out what they can do to make the most of their own shoots by walking a successful existing shoot in the company of gamekeepers.”

Annette Cole, senior manager of Country Sports South West, said: “Country Sports South West development officers will be available to offer follow-up advice and guidance to the participants so they can easily implement new ideas or techniques. This will ultimately help them to create more opportunities for their syndicates and shoots.”

Places cost £70 for BASC members and £136 for non-members.
