I’ve been pigeon shooting about 18 months. I feel I should be shooting more birds than I am, but I’m learning all the time.
I use a mixture of shell and full-bodied decoys but I?ve been told this makes pigeons wary ? I should stick to using one or the other. Would you agree with that?

When I first started shooting pigeons, I would use whatever I could lay my hands on, and would often have a pattern consisting of four or five different types of pigeon decoy.
When out pigeon shooting, I don?t ever recall coming to the conclusion that pigeons had the wit to differentiate between them.
Apart from dead birds, I don?t think ANY artificials are particularly realistic as individuals, rather it is the overall PICTURE that fools a pigeon long enough for us to be able to shoot it.
