New Middle Way hunting report

The report, commissioned by the All Party Parliamentary Middle Way Group and the Veterinary Association for Wildlife Management, explores the concept of the “natural chase” and how hunting with dogs has evolved from wolves hunting prey for food. Those behind the study hope it will have ramifications for the future of the 2004 Hunting Act.

According to the report: “The most significant aspect of hunting with hounds, which sets it apart from other methods of population control, is the animal-animal interaction at its heart: a pack of hounds hunting a prey animal. The way a pack of hounds hunt is not dissimilar to the method employed by a pack of wolves and may well be considered “natural”.
