New Pigeon shooting register

BASC has invited its members in East Anglia to join a Pigeon Shooting Register. The new service, organised with the National Farmers? Union (NFU), aims to match shooters with local farmers who need help in controlling damage to crops.

William Heal, regional director for BASC?s Eastern Region, said: ?On the one hand, you have farmers and landowners who are looking for pigeon shooters, and on the other hand, you have people who are looking for pigeon shooting. The idea here is to put the two together.

?There are a lot of pigeon that need controlling, particularly with all the ape crops in East Anglia. What we?re trying to do is to find ways of marrying up the person whose land it is with the person who wants to shoot.?
