“No plans” for cull to spread
<strong>There are no plans to roll out badger cull trials nationwide, say DEFRA</strong>
DEFRA has rubbished newspaper reports that badger culling trials, scheduled to take place in Somerset and Gloucestershire next year, are likely to be extended nationwide. A statement on its website said that ministers would make a decision on whether to roll out the policy to other areas ?based on the data gathered during the pilots.? A spokesman said: ?No-one wants to kill badgers ? we want to see healthy badgers thriving alongside healthy cattle.?
