HRH the Prince of Wales raises the issue of wildlife management in Country Life
HRH The Prince of Wales has spoken out about predators in this week’s issue of Country Life, which he has guest edited. He wrote: “How we manage wildlife is a great problem. Nobody wants to kill anything unnecessarily, but any population that has a tendency to expand rapidly and predate — or have an impact on another vulnerable species — needs to be measured. If people hadn’t done this for hundreds of years we would have no upland waders. I’ve tried and tried to get organisations to sit round a table to discuss this, but it’s not easy.”
The prince commissioned a piece on predation by Shooting Times columnist Robin Page.
