Two of the River Tweed’s most renowned stretches of salmon fishing are up for sale for a combined £5m.

The Junction and Sprouston beats in the Scottish Borders have been in the hands of the current owners since their purchase from the Duke of Roxburghe in the 1970s. The two beats have been described by agents Strutt and Parker as “a once-in-a-generation opportunity”. Junction is listed for £2.8 million, while Sprouston is listed at £2.65 million.

The sellers also describe them as “two of the most renowned Atlantic salmon fishing beats in the world”. Known for their historic reputation and record-breaking catches the sites are up for sale “simultaneously but separately.”

Head of Strutt & Parker’s Agency team in Scotland Robert McCulloch commented: “Once every few years, a sale comes to the market that really stands out, and this is one of them. Junction is the best-known and most prestigious beat in the salmon fishing world and, whilst less well-known, Sprouston is many Tweed anglers’ favourite due to its combination of privacy and productivity.

The Junction and Sprouston Beats are supported by a full-time team of five boatmen and both come with multiple fishing huts.
