Scottish Country Sports Tourism Awards winners named at Scone

Some of the estates, agencies and individuals behind Scotland’s shooting, stalking and fishing tourism have been recognised at the 2026 Scottish Country Sports Tourism Awards, revealed on the BASC stand at the Scottish Game Fair, Scone Palace, on Friday 3 July. Now in its fourth year, the awards are run by Country Sport Scotland, which is operated by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC), and have become a fixture of the Game Fair calendar.

Which businesses and individuals won?

Six categories were contested this year. Lochnell Estate won Best Sporting Estate, with Kildermorie Estate highly commended. SAC Shooting took Best Sporting Agency, with Allgame Ltd highly commended. Lauren Houstoun was named Best Sporting Influencer, with Harry Hutchison highly commended. Logiealmond Estate won Best Sporting Accommodation, with Amhuinnsuidhe Castle Estate highly commended. Scourie Hotel took Best Fishing Provider, with Gordon Castle Estate highly commended. Emma Christie won the Women in Country Sports Award, with Abbie Wilson highly commended.

What do the awards recognise?

The awards celebrate the businesses and individuals driving excellence across Scotland’s country sports tourism sector, from long-established sporting estates to newer innovators and ambassadors. Two of this year’s six categories, Best Fishing Provider and the Women in Country Sports Award, were introduced in 2025 to reflect the sector’s growing diversity. The event was headline sponsored by Thorntons, one of Scotland’s leading law firms, whose work in rural, agricultural and sporting estates law reflects the focus of the awards.

What has been said?

Kirk Norbury, project manager for Country Sport Scotland, said: “Once again, the standard of entries this year was outstanding. The awards highlight the excellence across Scotland’s country sports tourism industry, from long-established estates to the modern innovators and ambassadors attracting new audiences to the sector. Congratulations to all of our winners and highly commended entrants, you represent the very best of what Scotland has to offer.”

Claire Sadler, BASC vice chair, addressed the reception on behalf of the association. “Bringing together our experience in advocacy, education and supporting sporting visitors, we want to help ensure that Scotland’s country sports sector continues to thrive, both at home and on the international stage,” she said. “This sector continues to make an important contribution to rural Scotland.”

Country Sport Scotland, which is operated by BASC, continues to promote Scotland as a destination for shooting, stalking and fishing tourism through the year.
