The British Association for Shooting & Conservation has launched its latest campaign to encourage people to eat game meat.
This year?s Taste of Game season will run until 20 February, 2012, and will highlight the benefits of game meat as a local, wild and nutritious food.
A BASC spokesman said: ?Our surveys have shown that half the population has yet to try game. They are missing out on one of the best elements of British food. It is a superfood ? lean, nutritious, easy to cook and extremely versatile. The Taste of Game campaign aims not to preach to the converted but to take game to those who have yet to realise its benefits.?
The campaign?s website, www.basctasteofgame.org.uk, has been relaunched, and features information on restaurants and farmers? markets, as well as events including a special game weekend at The Cuan, Strangford, County Down in November.
