Gunmakers’ Row at this year’s CLA Game Fair (24 to 26 July, Belvoir Castle, in Leicestershire) is set to be the biggest shooting exhibition in the UK, with more than 180 stands selling guns and every imaginable accessory.

The revamped clay line for 2009 is also set to attract lots of visitors with a daily 40-bird competition with classes in gold, silver, bronze, ladies and juniors. Importantly, the competitions will be scored in a new way this year, which will allow all entries the chance to win one of the daily prizes.

Sponsored by Shooting Times, the new junior competition, for those aged 16 years and under, is being held in memory of renowned Shot Rod Finch. His widow, Lesley Finch, has put up the trophy he won at The CLA Game Fair in the 1970s as a new junior trophy. Along with this Mrs Finch is giving the winner £100, the runner-up £50 and the third place £25.

There will also be a spectacular new shooting display by the Bath Muzzle Loaders, an airgun display and a celebrity charity shoot to raise money for Help for Heroes.
