Shooting organisation’s chief executive to retire

BASC has launched its search for a replacement for long-serving chief executive John Swift, who has announced he will retire in June next year.

John Swift succeeded John Anderton as chief executive of BASC in 1988.

The recruitment will be overseen by BASC?s council which aims to make a choice later this year.

The council has appointed a subcommittee of elected members to work on the decision with external recruitment consultants.

BASC chairman Robert Irvine said: ?The appointment of a new year, and Officials hope that the successful candidate will begin work early next year, before officially starting in office at the organisation?s annual general meeting in June 2013.?
