Three men convicted of hare poaching in North Yorkshire

Hare poaching: Three men have been fined £50 each after pleading guilty to trespass in pursuit of game at Northallerton Magistrates’ Court.

They were spotted poaching hares with lurchers near Barton last year.

A police spokesman said: “Local residents and volunteers on the Rural Watch scheme play a huge part in keeping travelling criminals at bay and this is another case which highlights the valuable part they play in preventing crime in isolated locations.”
