The Countryside Restoration Trust (CRT) has accused the coalition Government of “trashing the countryside”.

Chairman Robin Page, who is a Shooting Times contributor, has written to Prime Minister David Cameron about building on green belt land, food security and the damage being done to habitat and wildlife species.

Robin said: “The situation is desperate. We see good agricultural land being lost forever. We see our food security compromised as our population rises and huge pressures are being put on our wildlife and ecosystems.”

The rest of this article appears in the 17th April issue of Shooting Times.
