Border Clay Days offer simulated game shooting comprising a mix of pheasant and pheasant/partridge drives.

We meet guns over breakfast at the Buccleuch Arms on the A68 in St Boswells, a great hotel in which to stay and explore the Scottish Borders, before driving 3 miles to Hollydean.

The morning consists of 4 drives replicating an authentic shooting day with clays instead of live birds, followed by a break for a 2 course lunch back at the Buccleuch Arms.

Border Gunroom is only 2 minutes from the hotel if guns need to replenish their stock of cartridges before returning to Hollydean for 2 afternoon drives.

Border Clay Days also offer a mobile service to clients with their own suitable land, where we provide either simulated game or conventional sporting layouts or a mix of both.

We have provided this service to private individuals and local hotels, and also organise charitable shoots at Eildon Hall on behalf of the Gamekeepers Welfare Trust and for the Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institution at Innerwick by Dunbar.

“Hi Dugie,
Many thanks to you and Allen for putting on a great day’s shooting for my Stag-Do, and also arranging for my 16 friends to be able to shoot each drive by stopping the drive halfway through, and allowing them to swap over, so the Loader became the Shooter!

This added to the enjoyment of the day, as the banter and leg pulling between each pair helped make my Stag day unforgettable. Also the 4 drives that you laid on for us suited all shooting abilities, from the high pheasant drive to the driven grouse and partridge.

The Lunch you provided at the local pub was excellent and helped to make the day feel like a proper driven shoot day. Many thanks again.”
