House of Lords and Commons clay shoot

The Lords emerged victorious, beating the Commons by just ten clays.

Estate owner and host, John Warde, commented that the day “was a fantastic success and managed to bring together key political figures which will no doubt benefit shooting.”

This year’s event differed from previous years as the competition was a simulated driven game day, (provided by Game Clays) which the Guns deemed much more sporting compared to a normal clay day.

Captain of the Lord’s team, Lord Astor of Hever, was very impressed by the line of clays that came over. He told Shooting Times: “The result was very close, we only just beat the Commons. I am pleased the Lords have secured this victory as the Commons won the previous four years.” He added: “This annual event is a great way of bringing together like-minded politicians who want to see the future of shooting secured.”



The Guns were transported in two brand new Defenders, provided by Landrover.
