The original James Bond stirred himself on the clay ground when he was part of Sir Jackie Stewart’s Rolex Celebrity Challenge at Gleneagles Shooting School. The charitable event raised an impressive £650,000.
Vinnie Jones, keen countryman and film star
Well-known as a keen countryman, as well as a film star, he’s done his bit clayshooting for charity and says: “The best times of my life have been working as a gamekeeper when I left school.”
The popular comedy actress lit up the screen as Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives. She’s also played her part shooting clay pigeons.

Charity clay events are held at grounds up and down the country and can be small or large. Well-known grounds like Holland & Holland, EJ Churchill and the Royal Berkshire Shooting School hold them regularly and will offer experienced assistance with charity corporate days. Holland & Holland in fact currently holds the record for the latest amount raised in a single day.
No experience is generally needed to shoot on a charity clay day as instructors are on hand to give a safety briefing and give a clayshooting lesson.
