“This now will be my go-to scope” – the new ZEISS V8

Paul Childerley is a fan. Watch the video below and you'll see why.

The new improved ZEISS V8 riflescope family is, in our opinion, superb for its purpose.

However we wanted to see what an experienced stalker would make of it – with no holds barred. So we gave one to Paul Childerley to try out in the field.  Paul is a gamekeeper, pro stalker and has been managing the muntjac and Chinese water deer population in Bedfordshire since 1998.

Watch the video below and you’ll see Paul’s honest appraisal of the new V8.

Takeaways from the V8 video

Paul Childerley comments:

“The revisited V8 has a 30mm tube which reduces the weight and makes the scope a much more balanced unit on the rifle, it also makes life so easy when mounting. It’s the perfect scenario for me.  The new feature with the enlarged eyebox makes you able to see through quickly and more efficiently, especially when you have clients or beginners using the estate rifle for the first time.
“This now will be my go-to scope with everything you need for a good all-round set up.”
Another feature Paul particularly notes is the way the new ZEISS V8 mounts effortlessly onto the rifle, for a lightweight and perfectly balanced setup.

Extra large eyebox

The extra-large eyebox is a feature users will notice and appreciate immediately, as it gives them more room to position their eye. Getting on target quickly is key to successful hunting and a large eyebox makes this much easier, allowing eye and ocular to work together in swift unison.

ZEISS has designed its scopes to be used with both eyes open – so the hunter feels more connected and aware of the local environment.
