The Game Farmers Association has dismissed claims by Animal Aid
The Game Farmers? Association (GFA) has dismissed claims by the animal rights group Animal Aid that its latest ?undercover investigation? exposes instances of poor husbandry in the industry.
Animal Aid says that its footage of ?suffering, death and maggot-infestation? was filmed secretly at a number of the country?s biggest gamefarms, including Wrekin Game in Shropshire, owned by GFA chairman Jonathan Crow.
However, speaking to Shooting Times, a GFA spokesman said:
?Interestingly, it is not being alleged that the Government Code of Practice for Game Rearing has been broken, nor on this evidence has it been.
?If Animal Aid spent several weeks undercover in some of Britain?s largest gamefarms and this is all they could come up with, we are encouraged that standards generally must be high.?
