The Great British Shooting Show this weekend promises to be the best yet, and Ollie Harvey selects some of the latest gear to look out for

Call me old-school but when I need some expensive new kit, I have to buy it over the counter. Buying online is so convenient, of course, but nothing beats getting the product you want in your hands. That’s why the British Shooting Show is such an important date in my calendar; it is often the first chance to get hands-on with all the latest kit coming to market in one place. From thermal optics and classic glass to rifles, shotguns and clothing, the BSS will have it all. I just wonder how I’m going to get it all home…

Thermal and night vision

Pulsar Symbion LRF DXT50

This multispectral powerhouse combines a 1280×1024 thermal sensor with 4K digital day and night vision. Featuring a 1,500m laser rangefinder and electronic image stabilisation, its magnesium alloy body houses a 50mm f1.0 lens. It provides exceptional sensitivity and a 2,300m detection range for comprehensive observation in any conditions.

HikMicro Alpex Pro Series – A50PL and A50P

Glass optics and cameras

Swarovski Optik AT/ST Balance spotting scopes

Featuring Swarobalance technology, these scopes provide stabilised handheld observation at high magnifications. They process 1,000 measurements per second to compensate for movement. The AT features an angled design and 65mm objective. The ST is straight with a 50mm objective for ultimate mobility without a tripod.

Burris Eliminator 6 riflescope

This advanced 4-20x52mm riflescope features an integrated 2,000-yard laser rangefinder and a ballistic calculator. It utilizes Bluetooth connectivity via the BurrisConnect app to calculate automatic holdovers. These are displayed on a customisable heads-up display for pinpoint accuracy on every shot.

Delta Forest 8×42 & 10×42
