<strong>GWCT heads pan-European research project</strong>

Find out more.The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) is heading a pan-European research project — to be funded by the European Commission to the tune of €3million — looking at how best to protect vital natural resources.
The Quantification of Ecosystem Services for Sustainable Agricultures (QUESSA) Project aims to identify key habitats on farmland, and to develop systems that farmers and policymakers can use to ensure that landscapes work efficiently in the future.
Dr John Holland, an entomologist at the GWCT, said: “With wildlife declining across Europe, the QUESSA project will help to identify areas of uncropped farmland, such as woodlands, hedges and margins, that need to be targeted and improved to maximise their use by pollinators, natural pest controllers, wildlife, or to help improve soil conservation and provide clean water.
