Scottish wildlife worth billions of pounds

Scotland&#x92;s natural environment is worth £17.2billion a year to its economy, according to a new report titled <em>Valuing Our Environment,</em> which was commissioned by a Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH)-led partnership.

The report also showed that Scotland’s wildlife is one of the main reasons why people visit.

SNH’s Andrew Thin said: “This report shows that the natural environment is fundamental to the prosperity of this country and more than simply a backdrop to a successful tourism industry.”
