Patrick Galbraith

Editor of Shooting Times from 2017 to 2023, Patrick is a writer and journalist. Brought up in Dumfries, he learned to shoot at an early age and is a game shooter, wildfowler and fly fisher. During his time at Shooting Times he camped alone for a week on a remote Scottish island, got up at dawn to go wildfowling on the marsh and crawled over scree on stalking trips. He is the author of two books: In Search of One Last Song, on Britain’s disappearing birds and the people trying to save them, published by William Collins in 2022, and Uncommon Ground, on our relationship with the countryside, published in 2025.
