The BBC Trust has announced that it will investigate the BBC's rural coverage, after the BBC was accused of bias in its reporting.

Last autumn, the BBC was accused of bias in its reporting of the planned badger cull, and National Farmers Union president Peter Kendall wrote to the then BBC director general, George Entwistle, calling for a review of the way the topic was being reported.
In one episode of BBC Two’s Newsnight (September 2012), the Corporation pixelated the face of a protestor threatening direct action, while naming and showing a farmer who was in favour of the cull.
