Brian May joins forces with RSPCA to prevent badger cull

Badger cull: Former Queen guitarist Brian May’s “Team Badger” has joined forces with animal rights groups and the RSPCA to raise money to vaccinate badgers against TB.

Mr May said that the £20m needed to catch and inject badgers in the badger cull areas would be raised from the public.

But Adam Quinney, vice president of the National Farmers Union, said badger vaccination is ineffective in the short term and would cost £5,000 per badger over five years, as opposed to the estimated £25 per badger in a cull.
