Scottish environment minister announces golden eagles are to be given greater protection

Golden eagles are to be given greater protection against disturbance. Scottish environment minister Roseanna Cunningham announced proposals on 1 December to create six new Special Protection Areas in northern and western Scotland.

“Scotland is an internationally important stronghold for the eagle, but their future is finely balanced due to their need for large, undisturbed spaces,” she said.
