Is a moderated shotgun good for pigeon shooting?

Have you had much success with your Hushpower moderated gun since you wrote about it 18 months ago in Sporting Gun?

I must admit to not having persevered with the Hushpower pump gun, mainly because the weight and balance is so different from my Perazzi, and it was frustrating to miss birds that I normally would have killed.

Also, you only get the full benefit of noise reduction if you use sub-sonic ammo, which, apart from being more expensive, is hideously poor performing.

Having said that, it is still a useful tool to have if I need to trim up a few pigeons and rabbits close to residential houses.
