Professor Marrs, who is the Principal of the School of Biological Sciences at Liverpool University and a leading expert on upland ecology, said “I am delighted to accept the appointment as the second President of The Heather Trust. It is a great honour to follow in the footsteps of Professor Charles Gimingham, who is rightly acknowledged as the foremost world authority on heather and moorland science.
