The Northern Shooting Show is back. Now in its fourth year, once again it will be held at the Yorkshire Event Centre, just off the A1 to the east of Harrogate, on 11 and 12 May. It is the perfect show for anyone with a passion for shooting and showcases all the latest shotguns, rifles, airguns, optics, specialist clothing, accessories and much more.
Major manufacturers and distributors this year include Blaser Sporting, CSW, Edgar Brothers, GMK, Raytrade, Ruag Ammotec, Scott Country International, Thomas Jacks, Fausti UK and Viking Arms. Last year, the show saw more than 50 UK product launches. What’s more, visitors can try a huge array of shotguns from many different makers on the impressive clayline.
It is the experiential element of the show that helps make it so successful and there will be a large number of optics that can be tried and tested, taking the risk out of an expensive purchase. There will also be major players in the night-vision and thermal world present.
• In addition, Viking Arms will be launching its Ballistics Lab with experts on hand to advise on ammunition choice and use.
• The Deer Focus Area proved a huge success last year with talks and demonstrations on everything stalking related. There will be
a masterclass from Cai Ap Bryn, with venison kebabs being served up for lunch. The Pace Brothers, Byron and Darryl, will also be on hand at the event.
There’s a huge gundog area with scurries, competitions, demonstrations and clinics. The area also features vets, first aid and dog therapy experts.
Airgunners are also catered for with ranges where all the latest airguns can be used.
The best Yorkshire food and drink will be available and it is truly a day for all the family with lots of entertainment on hand. The show really is a “one-stop shop” for shooters, one that should not be missed, so put the date in your diary — or better still, book your tickets now.
Upheavals within two prominent animal welfare charities have sparked concerns about their governance and what goes on behind the scenes.
