<strong>High meat prices is one of the factors being blamed for an increase in poaching</strong>
The deliberate release of deer into new and isolated areas of Northern Ireland is behind a recent increase in poaching, according to Dave McCullough, secretary of the Northern Ireland Deer Society.
Mr McCullough said that the price of deer meat was also encouraging the poachers. He said: ?Even though there are regulations in place on how venison is sold, the price on the black market makes it attractive to poachers to sell it privately.?
