The Manufacture and Storage of Explosives Regulations (MSER) 2005, combine and modernise outdated explosives legislation to current health and safety standards.

The guide provides simple information about the complex regulations and will be useful to muzzle loaders, home loaders, historical re-enactors and police firearms and explosives licensing staff.

BASC director of firearms, Bill Harriman, said: “We have worked long and hard with ACPO, the Health and Safety Executive, and partners within the shooting community to produce a simple document to explain this complex legislation. We hope this will help those people who need to deal with this area of law.”

The guidance is available to download from the firearms section of the BASC website.
