The Environment Agency has launched a series of consultations outlining flood defences in England and Wales
BASC is calling on wildfowlers to respond to the Environment Agencys consultations on Shoreline Management Plans (SMPs), which cover numerous wildfowling areas in England and Wales.
At the Government bodys annual conference, held on 10 November, plans for the next five years were announced. They include building new flood defences, maintaining existing ones, continuing to restrict development on flood plains and creating new wetland and coastal habitats to prevent flooding.
The 22 different consultations, which cover shorelines including Lowestoft to Felixtowe, in Suffolk, look at how the shoreline may change depending on the policy decisions taken on flood defences.
