Rachel Evans has taken up the post of regional director for south, west and mid-Wales.
Ms Evans’ role will include fundraising and communicating with the Welsh Assembly on rural issues, as well as raising awareness of the Countryside Alliance’s campaigning work and it’s profile in the Welsh media.
“The countryside is facing some very difficult times,” said Ms Evans.
“I have been extremely fortunate to have been brought up in a close-knit, traditional community where the countryside and the issues attached to it are a fundamental part of everybody’s day to day life.”
“If I can now, in some way, repay the countryside for all it has done for me then that would be very satisfying indeed. I am really looking forward to being part of the team creating a stronger Countryside Alliance for south Wales.”
