Patrick O'Reilly

BASC’s head of social science, Patrick works to improve recognition of shooting as an important part of cultural life. His role includes making the case for its inclusion on all four of the UK’s national living heritage lists. He writes for ShootingUK on shooting’s cultural standing, on wildfowling as living heritage, and on why wildfowlers’ voices, local knowledge and traditions deserve recognition and protection, and he has written for BASC on the wildfowlers of the Ribble estuary and their place in the conservation picture.
