TenPointNine, described as the UK’s only company providing tailored clothing for target shooting athletes, has moved from Albrighton to larger premises at The Studio, within the grounds of the Bradford Estates office at Weston-under-Lizard in Shropshire. The mother and daughter behind the business say the move supports their aim of making target shooting accessible to all.

Who are the tailors behind TenPointNine?

Pippa Burman established the company in 2008, starting out on her kitchen table, and now runs it alongside her daughter Mary Newton, a former competitive shooter. The firm fits athletes from club level to international, and from complete starter to Paralympian.

The specialism is sports tailoring: supportive, precision-fitted clothing designed to improve safety, stability and performance on the range. Having seen at first hand how clothing can be a barrier to the sport, the pair say they are committed to providing bespoke kit that lets newcomers and experienced athletes alike take part with confidence.

Why does the move matter for target shooting?

Well-fitted jackets, trousers and supporting kit are central to the prone, three-position and air disciplines, and a British maker serving everyone from beginners to Paralympic shooters is a strength for the sport’s pipeline. The larger premises give the business room to grow its made-to-measure work at a time when club and schools shooting continue to bring new entrants into the target disciplines.

What happens next

The business is now operating from The Studio at Weston-under-Lizard, alongside Bradford Estates’ other commercial tenants, and continues to take fittings for club, national and international athletes. Bradford Estates asset manager Rachel Willis welcomed the pair to the estate’s commercial premises as the move completed, and the firm’s diary of fittings carries on uninterrupted through the autumn season.
