Charles Nodder, who has worked tirelessly as the political advisor for both the National Gamekeepers’ Organisation since its inception more than 20 years ago, and more recently the Game Farmers Association, has recently announced his retirement.
He played a huge part in the drawing up of DEFRA’s Game rearing code, played a lead role in the development of the Code of Good Shooting Practice and has been a never ending source of sage advice to those within the game shooting sector who sought clarity and succinct advice.
Without him, many legal means of predation control would have been lost, firearms licensing would be more complex, and game shooters and gamekeepers would be wading through an even bigger list of unreasonable, unworkable and unnecessary restrictions.
Admired by his peers, feared by our opponents, and respected by those in government, the shooting community as a whole are hugely in his debt.
