Shooting Industry magazine awards Sportarm top scores
Here?s what they had to say:
First impressions? 10/10
It was a hugely impressive start ? there was a private car park, superb signage, fantastic window displays and it was in a very imposing corner location.
Step inside? 10/10
I was hit by the ?wow factor? as soon as I entered; it was a fantastic emporium of shooting goods. Everything about this place is just ?right? and a number of awards on the walls demonstrate a commitment to excellence.
Stay clean? 10/10
I inspected the expensive carpets and could find no evidence of ingrained grime; every shelf gleamed, every cabinet dazzled, and every rack was immaculately presented.
Show it off? 10/10
I was hit by one of the most impressive arrays of guns, clothing, footwear, optics, blades and anything else associated with shooting anywhere that I?ve seen in the country. Crammed clothing racks, neatly presented displays, oak desks brimming with hip flasks, cleaning kits, figurines and other bits and pieces meant that there was something to see at every turn.
Help me? 10/10
I was left for just a few seconds before an immaculately attired staff member asked if he could be of service.
I was immediately guided to the required part of the shop floor and offered a few options to browse over before being left to enjoy the ambiance.
Know your stuff? 10/10
As part of the initial greeting, the chap gave me an awful lot of information with regard to my enquiry and showed an encyclopedic knowledge of fine guns, manufacturing and embellishment of a number of side plates and associated metalwork.
Pushy or pleasing? 10/10
It was just pleasing? that?s all I need to say. I was left for at least 20 minutes to browse before further assistance was proffered. The staff were very relaxed but keen to help.
Do I need this? 10/10
Any suggested purchase was accompanied by a number of perfectly matched accessories and options, with nothing else added to complicate things.
Family friendly? 8/10
I hate to remove any marks because this has to be the ?perfect? gunroom but it is incredibly difficult for a gun shop to score highly by encouraging youngsters and so it proved here. In mitigation, there was plenty for the lady gun owner.
What?s happening and where? 10/10
I was given advice that covered everything I could have wished for. Shooting appears to be at the heart of Dorset countryside culture and there really is something for all.
TOTAL 98/100
It will take a truly phenomenal outlet to top Sportarm. It was a pleasure to visit, and full of pleasant, knowledgeable staff with everything required for the shooter. I only wish I could have awarded maximum points to add to the numerous certificates of outstanding service adorning its interior.
