Do you use crow bangers when pigeon shooting?

Do you ever use them? Are there any do’s and don’ts I need to follow?

PIGEON SHOOTING
Peter Theobald
Rope bangers are a good way of keeping birds off fields where you do not want them, though they do not necessarily force them over onto your field.

My view is that if pigeons constantly try to go to other parts of a field you are attempting to decoy, then the chances are you are set up in the wrong part of said field, and should move.

If, however, you are operating alone, and you feel pigeons may go to another field once shot at, then bangers will certainly deter this irritating habit.

Just make sure you light them away from material that may catch fire, such as stubble or dry dead grass!
